About Ask Mari Japanese
Ask Mari Japanese
A clearer path from “I want to learn Japanese” to the right first class.
The brief
Ask Mari Japanese teaches practical, everyday Japanese through live classes with Mari-sensei.
The site needed to make several course levels feel simple to navigate, remove hesitation before payment, and create a welcoming first impression for complete beginners.
From many choices to one confident next step
Students arrive with different goals: starting from zero, preparing for travel, or building everyday confidence.
I designed the course experience around clear routes for:
Absolute Beginner
Beginner
Travel Japanese
Everyday Japanese
Each course page answers the questions that usually stop someone from enrolling: what they'll learn, how long it takes, what it costs, and whether they’ll cover hiragana and katakana.
Enrollment without loose ends
The journey needed to carry students from curiosity to their first class without friction.
Sign up, pay, get started
The flow combines Stripe checkout, automated welcome emails, and a waitlist experience, so students know exactly what happens after they choose a course.
Find your level before you commit
Choosing the wrong course can make a beginner pause.
Placement quiz
I designed an interactive quiz that helps new students identify the right starting point before they enroll.
Trust, then action
The final sections bring together student reviews from around the world, Mari’s story, and a focused call to action.
Ready to start speaking?
The experience closes by making the next step feel personal, achievable, and easy to take.
