LUCA - Headless Shopify Storefront for a Women's Cycling Brand
A headless commerce build for LUCA, a UK brand making cycling and spin apparel designed by women who ride. Framer front end, Shopify back end — editorial storytelling on the surface, full commerce infrastructure underneath.
I joined to solve the hard part: wiring Shopify data into Framer so the storefront behaves like a real shop, not a catalogue with links out.
Key sections:
Full-bleed video hero with seasonal collection campaign
Shop by Style grid — collections pulled live from Shopify
Brand story block with founder route
Press and partner logo marquee
Community section for group rides and events
Dedicated Events and LUCA Laps pages
Customer account portal on a subdomain
Support hub — FAQs, shipping and returns, policies
Commerce work I handled:
Shopify component output — configuring how product, variant and collection data renders inside Framer, so pricing, options and stock states stay accurate and live
Custom Notify Me When Available component — replaces the dead end on sold-out variants, captures the email against the specific size and colour, and restores the buying intent that would otherwise be lost
Variant logic — size and colour selection with per-variant availability, image swapping and disabled states
Cart integration with live item count in the header and persistent state across pages
Collection routing and style taxonomy — jerseys, bibs, bras, tops, accessories, plus seasonal drops
Responsive QA across desktop, tablet and mobile for every commerce surface
Stack: Framer, Shopify (headless), custom code components, variant and inventory logic
