There’s no single way to migrate a website with AI. Results depend on your source site, tools, and access. Whatever approach you use, review the result yourself before launch. An agent can miss details or report work as complete without checking the rebuilt site.

Results vary

Different tools and models can produce different results from the same source. More reasoning or a longer run does not guarantee a closer match. Your agent may also miss content it cannot access, such as pages behind a login.

Compare the rebuild with the original rather than relying on the agent’s summary. Check for missing sections, substituted assets, and changes to the design. Ask which parts the agent checked and which remain unverified.

Check more than appearance

A screenshot can show a layout, but it cannot prove that a menu opens or a form submits. Test links, buttons, menus, tabs, and carousels in Framer Preview. Check desktop, tablet, and phone layouts, including open menus and expanded content. Use a keyboard to check navigation and visible focus.

Review content and URLs

Check copy, images, and fonts against the source. For CMS content, review item counts, dates, categories, and links between items. Open several detail pages to check for import errors that one example might not reveal.

For a full site, check that the expected pages exist and shared elements stay consistent. Review titles, descriptions, changed URLs, and existing redirects. Check downloads, rich-text links, and localized pages if used. Test published URLs and redirects before launch; Framer Preview alone cannot verify them.

Time and usage vary

A complex site can take more work than a short static page. Missing access, retries, and repeated fixes can add time and token usage. Leave room for review and corrections rather than treating the first result as ready to publish.

Your provider determines usage limits and pricing. Check its usage report for actual figures; there’s no fixed migration cost across tools or models. Ask for specific fixes where possible instead of restarting work that is already correct.

Finish account setup yourself

You may need to connect form destinations, integrations, tracking, consent tools, or a domain after the rebuild. Keep these as follow-up tasks. Once connected, test them yourself, including a real form submission that reaches the destination you connected.

Ask for a clear handover

Ask your agent to separate tested work from work it built but could not verify. Get a list of missing work, access limits, and tasks that need a person. Check the evidence; a high score is not approval to launch.
