Title: £300+ Spent on AI Credits with No Simple Claude Pro Connection
I am dissatisfied with Framer’s AI credit system, its poor Agent outputs and, above all, the fact that I cannot simply connect the Claude Pro account I already pay for.
I pay for Framer and Claude Pro, yet Framer still requires me to buy separate AI credits. Why am I being made to pay twice for access to Claude?
Instead of a simple “Connect Claude account” option, Framer expects users to install Claude Code and Node.js, use a terminal and authorise projects individually. That is a developer workaround, not a normal account connection.
The problem is worse because the prebuilt sections I used through the Insert panel have disappeared, pushing me towards the paid Agent for basic page-building tasks.
After exhausting my included credits, I have spent more than £300 on additional Framer AI credits. I gave the Agent a clear prompt and it confirmed it understood. The result was poor, ignored the website’s design and was nowhere near usable.
I was then expected to spend even more credits asking the Agent to fix its own mistakes. Customers should not carry the cost when the Agent ignores confirmed instructions or produces unusable work.
My concerns are excessive and unpredictable credit use, failed outputs still consuming paid credits, further charges to correct them, basic non-AI tools being obscured, and no native connection for Claude Pro users.
Framer should offer a choice: use Framer-managed credits, or connect an existing Claude/OpenAI account and use the customer’s own subscription or API allocation.
I have submitted a formal complaint requesting restoration of credits used on failed outputs, a review of my £300+ spend, a breakdown of credit use and confirmation of whether native “bring your own AI” support is planned.
I want a substantive response, not another generic explanation. At present, I feel I am paying twice for Claude and carrying the full cost of Framer’s poor-quality outputs.
