Brutalist Halftone Filter — Raw, Relentless, Unsmoothed

DescriptionA no-compromise halftone image filter built for brutalist visuals. This Framer canvas component converts images into aggressive dot grids with extreme contrast, hard thresholds, and unapologetically harsh edges. There is no blur, no gradients, and no soft interpolation—every pixel decision is snapped, binary, and intentional.
The filter exposes precise controls for thresholding, dot scale, grid geometry (square, rectangle, or circle), and dot rigidity, allowing the output to swing from rigid mechanical blocks to barely-controlled chaos. Edge snapping exaggerates contrast transitions, while limited high-impact color palettes (black/white, red/black, blue/black, yellow/black) reinforce a raw print-poster aesthetic.
Optional wave distortion introduces violent spatial deformation, breaking grid alignment with animated sine-based offsets for a corrupted, industrial feel. When animation is disabled, the component renders a single, static frame for maximum visual punch and performance.
Designed for posters, experimental typography backdrops, editorial art direction, and anti-polish interfaces—this filter embraces visual brutality as a feature, not a flaw.
