Connect to any rich text field and get the word count / time to read. It provides quick, valuable information to readers about the content they're about to engage with. Knowing the word count or estimated reading time helps users decide if they have time to read the content now or save it for later.

Instructions

1. Copy the component

2. Paste it into a CMS details page. Ensure that there is a formatted text field

3. Connect the formatted field to the component

4. Select between number of words or time to read

5. Customize the font

6. Preview

How It Works

The property controls for this WordCounter component let you customize how it counts and displays text information:

You can input rich text to be counted. You can adjust the font style and color of the displayed count. There's an option to choose between displaying the word count or estimated reading time.

For mode advanced use cases, you can connect multiple formatted fields incase your CMS is divided into multiple sections and well as decide the suffix that comes after counting words/time to read
