Resolving publishing errors

Publishing a site with errors or missing content can negatively impact user experience.

To prevent this, Framer blocks site publication when errors are detected. While this safeguard may seem inconvenient, it ensures your site functions as intended, avoiding issues like unnoticed misconfigured forms during high-traffic periods.

Some errors, such as those related to third-party code components or custom code, can be resolved easily. Others may require help from our support team. If you encounter persistent issues, please reach out through our Community Support channel for prompt assistance.

Common error messages and solutions

Component too large

The Blog Pages Too Large error indicates that your web page or smart component exceeds optimal size limits, which can harm performance. To fix this, break down large SVGs or extensive sections into smaller smart components. This improves load times and enhances site performance, ensuring a smoother visitor experience.

Component missing

A Ticker Missing warning means a required component cannot be found. This often happens when a custom code component, used by other components or pages, has been deleted. To resolve this, restore the deleted component code or remove its instances from the project. After restoring the component, adjust one of its properties and preview the changes to ensure it works correctly.

Component on web page/component in smart component

Errors like Particles on Home or Particles in Custom Card point to issues with the Particles component that may hinder site functionality. Ensure all external components are updated to the latest versions and debug custom code components for errors. If connectivity issues arise, reload your project to improve component loading and performance.

Code override missing

This error occurs when a layer’s code override is missing, often because it was deleted or an external override was updated. Restore any deleted overrides or remove those that are no longer necessary. Properly implementing overrides ensures your project’s integrity and functionality.

Invalid code override

An invalid code override contains errors that prevent a web page or smart component from working correctly. Debug and fix local code overrides using the code editor. For external overrides, either remove them or contact their owner for help. Resolving these errors ensures all components function as expected.

Cannot load collection

This error indicates that a CMS Collection required by a web page or smart component is missing, possibly due to deletion or other errors. Verify that the CMS Collection exists and works properly. If the issue persists, contact support for assistance to restore full site functionality.

Form not configured

The form not configured error means a form in your project lacks configured destinations, preventing it from receiving submissions. Click the error message to access the form and ensure all destinations are correctly set up. Proper configuration enables your site to capture and process submissions effectively.

By following these steps, you can troubleshoot and resolve Framer publishing errors, ensuring a seamless and functional site for your users. For further assistance, our support team is ready to help.
