Issues with Site Search

Discover the answers to the most frequently asked questions about site search in this article.

What's causing search to be disabled on my site?

If your project exceeds the page limit for your plan, search functionality will be affected. The page limits are as follows:

  • Basic Plan: 10 pages, including CMS pages

  • Pro Plan: 300 pages, including CMS pages

Note that this limit only applies to pages within your project. Scoping search or excluding pages from your index will not impact this limit. To continue using search on your site, you'll need to either remove pages from your project or upgrade to a higher plan.

Why am I still seeing old results?

For faster search results, we cache them. Typically, you won't notice any difference. However, if you encounter outdated search results, try searching again in a few minutes. The cache should refresh, providing new content. If the issue persists, please contact us.

Why are my search results incomplete?

If you're not getting the expected results from site search (e.g., missing pages, unusual order), start by checking the following:

  1. Ensure the Scope property of your search component includes the desired pages.

  2. Verify that your published site is optimized. If not, we'll generate a basic index, which may omit most of your content. Fix any optimization errors and try again.

How can I exclude a specific page from search results?

To exclude specific pages from your search results, follow these steps:

  1. In the project settings, select the page you want to exclude.

  2. Disable the "Show page in site search" option.

Our indexing logic will then ignore this page, and it will no longer appear in your site search results.
