Delivering paid components

Learn how to correctly share paid components with customers and ensure installs are tracked in your dashboard.

When selling components in the Framer Marketplace, it’s important to deliver them to your customers in the right way so that install metrics are tracked accurately.

How install metrics work

The install count in your Marketplace dashboard only increases when a customer installs your component using its Component URL.

If you instead share a remix link, customers create a copy of the component. Copies are not linked to the original component, so these installs are not tracked in your dashboard metrics.

Best practices for delivering paid components

To make sure installs are tracked correctly:

  1. Always share the Component URL: The Component URL is what Framer uses to track installs. You can find this URL in the Marketplace and share it with your customers after purchase.

  2. Avoid remix links: Remix links create independent copies of your component. Since these copies are not tied to the original component, they won’t be counted toward your install metrics.

  3. Include a short installation guide: To make the process easier for customers, provide a short guide that explains how to install your component using the Component URL directly in Framer. You can include this guide in the purchase confirmation email or as part of your delivery message so customers always know the correct steps.

If you’re already sharing the Component URL but still see fewer installs than sales, please reach out to creators@framer.com and we’ll help you investigate further.
