Porting your data from Framer
The EU Data Act (effective September 2025) requires SaaS providers to make customer data portable between platforms. In practice, Framer already supported this prior to the EU Data Act because our output is based on open web standards.
Exporting your site
Every Framer site is published as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and assets.
You can download these files at any time and move them to any hosting provider
Since the output is standards-based, it's not locked to Framer and can be reused elsewhere
Your site will continue to function on any web server that supports standard web technologies
Exporting CMS data
Framer CMS content can be exported through plugins into structured formats such as CSV or JSON.
This makes it straightforward to import text, images, and collections into other systems.
How data portability works
All exportable data is already accessible in standard formats that work across different platforms.
You can retrieve your full site and CMS data immediately, at any time.
What this means for you
If you ever decide to switch platforms, you can:
Download your full Framer site and host it anywhere
Export your CMS content in interoperable formats
Continue using your design and content outside of Framer without data lock-in
