Deleting a project

How to permanently remove a project you no longer need

Over time, your dashboard can fill up with projects that are no longer relevant. Deleting a project helps you keep things tidy and focused.

To delete a project, you first move it to the Archive. This acts as a holding area and gives you a moment to confirm that you really want to remove the project.

Deleting a project

Start by selecting the project you want to remove from your dashboard. Move it to the Archive, where Framer stores projects that are no longer active.

Next, open the Archive folder. You’ll see the archived project listed there, along with a Delete button. Clicking Delete permanently removes the project from your workspace.

What happens after deletion

Once a project is deleted, its website is automatically unpublished. This action is irreversible, so the project can’t be recovered afterward.

If the project had a custom domain connected, it won’t be detached automatically. To free up the domain for reuse, you’ll need to contact the Framer support team through our contact page.

For workspace admins

If you’re a workspace admin, you can speed things up by clearing the Archive all at once. Open the three-dot menu next to the Archive folder and select Empty archive to delete all archived projects in one step.
