CMS Update: Copy-Paste Markdown Content & Links

This update makes working with text and links in Framer a lot smoother. We’ve added better Markdown support, improved how copied and pasted links behave, and fixed a number of issues with code blocks, blockquotes and images. Whether you’re moving content between tools or polishing your site, everything should feel cleaner and more consistent. We also added support to image links in custom code, as well as Created and Updated Variables for CMS items. This can be used to implement structured data for SEO using JSON-LD. Here’s a full list of additions.

Added
  • Added support for pasting Markdown content, including code blocks and tables

  • Added ability to copy CMS text as Markdown to be pasted in other writing apps

  • Added href attributes to links copied from the CMS, for SEO and accessibility

  • Added support for image links, creation and edit dates in structured SEO data

  • Added support for single references in page title, description & custom code

Improved
  • Improved prefixes in all links with the site’s canonical or default domain

  • Improved pasting links, now automatically converted to absolute URLs

  • Improved the way Variables in links are resolved without extra step

  • Improved the formatting of lists in the sample blog detail pages

  • Improved the social previews of CMS items with image fields

  • Fixed hard line breaks with which are now preserved when copying

  • Fixed italics and monospace formatting which are now correctly applied
