Understanding Marketplace analytics and rankings

Learn what your analytics measure, how Trending, Best, and Recent rankings weigh them, and how to improve your position over time.

Every resource you publish has its own analytics, and the same numbers feed the Marketplace rankings. Reading them well tells you where your listing is working and where people drop off.

What analytics measures

The available statistics depend on the type of resource:

  • Unique visitors: How many different people visit your resource.

  • Total views: How many views your resource gets, including repeat visits.

  • Remixes, opens, and installs: How often people start using your resource.

  • Users: How many people use your resource.

  • Conversions: The number of remixed projects that upgrade to a paid Framer plan. Only applies to templates, and counts Framer subscriptions rather than purchases of the template itself.

Read these numbers together and look for changes over time. Views show attention. Remixes, opens, and installs show whether that attention leads to use.

How performance affects visibility

Marketplace rankings use several signals together:

  • Discovery: Views and unique visitors.

  • Usage: Remixes, opens, installs, and unique users.

  • Conversion: The percentage of remixed templates that move to a paid Framer plan.

  • Continued use: Whether people keep using your resource over time.

No single statistic determines your ranking. Your position reflects how your resource performs compared with others shown in the same place and period. Your numbers can improve while your position falls if other resources perform better.

How Marketplace rankings work

The Marketplace has three rankings: Trending, Best, and Recent. These apply to all general Marketplace pages and categories.

Ranking

What it shows

What it rewards

Trending

Resources getting attention right now, from views to remixes, opens, and installs.

Momentum over totals. Fast-growing attention lifts you past resources with more views, just as a slowing pace can let others move ahead.

Best

Resources that performed well across the selected period, such as Last Month or Last Quarter.

Favors steady performance over brief spikes. Where Trending reacts to today, Best rewards resources that keep delivering, judged on the signals that show real use.

Recent

The newest resources, giving fresh work a place to be discovered.

New resources start here automatically, but early performance still counts. A strong start helps you stand out among other new arrivals.

How to improve your results

Start with the work itself. Original, well-crafted resources with a clear point of view get remixed, installed, and recommended, while generic or mass-generated work rarely holds attention even if it collects views at first.

Once the work is solid, use your analytics to spot where people lose interest. If views rise but usage doesn’t, your listing may not be explaining clearly what people will get. Treat this as a prompt to investigate, not proof of a problem. A few things that help people choose your resource and keep using it:

  • Use a clear title and description.

  • Show accurate previews so people know what to expect.

  • Test your resource and fix issues that could stop people from using it.

  • Listen to feedback and add functionality when it helps.

  • Keep templates up to date, using new Framer features when they improve the experience.

After making changes, keep tracking views alongside usage and conversions. Look for improvement over time rather than judging results by ranking alone.

Keeping rankings fair

Free and paid resources are ranked together in the same lists, and being free doesn’t earn a better position. Rankings do reset when a resource switches from free to paid, though. Free resources tend to gather remixes and installs quickly, so this prevents a creator from building momentum while free and carrying it over once the resource costs money. A paid resource earns its position on its own performance.

Do not use extra accounts or fake activity to increase your numbers. We review historical activity, and artificial engagement can lead to a Marketplace ban. To help prevent manipulation, we explain the main ranking factors but keep the exact formula private.

FAQ

Does a lower ranking mean I’ve been penalized?

A drop on its own does not mean you’ve been penalized. Your position can change because activity slows down or other resources do better.

Why is a resource with fewer views ranked above mine?

Views are only one part of ranking. Usage, continued use, and template conversions also matter.

Can a new resource get noticed?

Yes. Recent helps people find new releases, and Trending highlights resources getting attention now. A long history isn’t required, but a particular position is never guaranteed.
