Hosting Options and Reverse Proxy
Framer comes with built in hosting: just click publish and your site is deployed in under a second.
The Framer hosting infrastructure is world-class and built for simplicity, performance, and reliability. Technically, our infrastructure is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), leveraging CloudFront, S3, and multiple global, load-balanced frontends with large in-memory caches. You can learn more here.
If you are interested in going even further than that, for example, setting up a reverse proxy, or you need an uptime guarantee for your site, Framer for Business offers three types of infrastructure for improved performance, security, and uptime:
Standard Hosting with Premium CDN. All our business plans will benefit from a Premium CDN.
Premium Hosting. Your site will point to distinct IP addresses, separating your site infrastructure from self-serve customers. This allows us to guarantee 99.99% uptime and to protect your specific site from attackers actively. Our business infrastructure is heavily optimized to optimize your site speed globally with low latencies.
Custom Hosting. Many of our enterprise customers have complex tech stacks that require connecting multiple Framer projects on a single domain via reverse proxy. You can do that yourself with any of our Business Plans. As part of our Enterprise package, our Technical Support Engineering team will help you with a configuration for your own Amazon CloudFront setup that you can run from your company infrastructure account. This essentially means that you host your site yourself but with all the guarantees and uptime of AWS. The setup can be done in under an hour, and you’ll get all the flexibility to:
Add custom routing for paths and urls (host multiple sites on a single domain).
Add custom domains and ssl certificates for your specific setup.
Add custom http (security) headers and redirects to your setup.
Add custom CDN configuration for localized performance optimizations.
Add custom caching behavior for advanced content optimizations.
Add custom WAF (web application firewall) and manage your own rules.
Add custom edge functions to for example add advanced auth or metrics.
