In this Acceptable Use Policy we have listed some ground rules that we expect each user of our platform to respect. Jointly, we aim to keep the platform safe in all aspects, so that it can function optimally for all users. The content you create by using our platform also needs to comply with these ground rules.

This Acceptable Use Policy (or ‘AUP’) applies to every user of our platform. This means that you have a direct responsibility to adhere to this AUP, even if your use of our platform is for instance based on an agreement between your employer and Framer.
By using the platform, you agree to this AUP and you agree that you will adhere to it. If there is anything in this AUP you do not wish to agree to, you cannot continue the use of our platform.

Unless agreed otherwise in writing with Framer, you are not allowed to share your account with anyone else. If you do share your account with someone, this is a violation of this AUP which can lead to immediate suspension of your account and you are nonetheless responsible for such other users use of your account, including such other users’ adherence to this AUP.

Basic rules


You are not allowed to:

  • Use our platform to do anything that violates the laws of (i) the Netherlands, (ii) the European Union, or (iii) any country in or from which you use the platform;

  • Use our platform to do anything with the intention to harm others or to do anything that infringes any rights of any third party;

  • Use our platform to damage, interfere with or disrupt the integrity, performance or anyone’s use of the platform and/or any services provided by Framer.


Restrictions on the use our software


The following is a non-exhaustive list of things that may not be done with or through our platform. You will not:

  1. Transmit spam, chain letters, or other unsolicited email;

  2. Send emails to people who have not explicitly consented (where such consent is required), or other unsoliciated communications in bulk or otherwise;

  3. Send altered, deceptive, or false source-identifying information (including any misleading or incorrect names, email addresses, subject lines), including without limitation phishing or spoofing;

  4. Take any action that imposes, or may impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure, to be determined by Framer in our sole discretion;

  5. Upload invalid data, viruses, worms, or other software agents through the platform;

  6. Impersonate another person or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity, conduct fraud, hide, or attempt to hide your identity;

  7. Disclose any information that you do not have the consent to disclose (such as confidential information of others, including their personally identifiable information);

  8. Use any device, software, or process to interfere with, or attempt to interfere with, the proper working of the platform or any systems or networks connected to the platform, or with any other person’s use of the platform;

  9. Conduct, engage in or otherwise process information concerning end users or data to analyse individuals or groups of natural persons for unlawful or discriminatory purposes;

  10. Store or collect any personally identifiable information that is deemed sensitive or requires special protections under applicable laws. For example, Social Security numbers, passwords, and credit card information;

  11. Copy or duplicate the platform and any of the services provided by Framer;

  12. Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to obtain or perceive the source code from which any software component of the platform is compiled or interpreted;

  13. Modify the platform, or create any derivative work of the platform;

  14. Assign, sublicense, sell, resell, lease, rent or otherwise transfer or convey, or pledge as security or otherwise encumber your user rights to the platform;

  15. Use the platform to build a similar or competitive product or service;

  16. Use the platform for any purposes prohibited by law, including without limitation, the development, design, manufacture or production of nuclear missiles or chemical or biological weapons;

  17. Use any “deep-link”, “page-scrape”, “robot”, “spider” or other automatic device, program, algorithm or methodology, or any manual process to access, acquire, copy, or monitor any portion of the platform or any content hosted by Framer or obtain or attempt to obtain any materials, documents or information through any means not purposely made available through the platform.


Restrictions on Content


You are responsible for any content (‘Content’) you upload or publish through the Framer platform and any Content hosted for you by Framer. If other people (for example your employees) upload Content on your behalf, such Content is also considered ‘your Content’ for which you are responsible. The following is a non-exhaustive list you shall take into account in respect of your Content:

  1. You are to make sure that any Content does not violate any law or infringe any rights of any third party, including without limitation any intellectual property rights, publicity rights, trade secrets or rights of privacy.

  2. You shall not submit, transmit or display any Content, or use Content in a context, which may be deemed as defamatory, libelous, obscene, harassing, threatening, incendiary, abusive, racist, offensive, deceptive or fraudulent, encouraging criminal or harmful conduct;

  3. You are not allowed to publish Content that promotes illegal activities;

  4. You will particularly make sure that your Content does not seek to harm or exploit children by exposing them to inappropriate content, asking for personally identifiable details or otherwise;

  5. It is not allowed to publish Content of which you know that it is not correct and current;

  6. It is also not allowed to publish Content which is adult in nature, such as any nudity in a sexual context, exposed genitalia, or any content with adult themes.

Possible consequences if you do not comply with this AUP

  1. Framer reserves the right, but is not obligated, to reject and/or remove any Content that Framer believes, in its sole discretion, violates this AUP;

  2. Framer reserves the right to suspend your account temporarily or permanently in case your account is used for activities violating this AUP;

  3. You may be liable for damages incurred by Framer and/or any third party as a consequence of any actions in violation of this AUP.

Framer strives to ensure fair outcomes, but in all cases our determination of whether a violation of this AUP has occurred will be final and binding, and any action taken with respect to enforcing this AUP, including taking no action at all, will be at our sole discretion. Framer may modify this AUP from time to time, and will post the most current version on our site. By continuing to use the Service or access your account after a revised version of this policy has been posted, you agree to comply with the latest version of the AUP.

In the event of a conflict between the AUP and the Terms, this AUP will take precedence, but only to the extent required to resolve such conflict. To report violations of these guidelines to us directly, please email us at abuse@framer.com.
