Connect to our improved hosting
We recently introduced new IP addresses for custom domains at Framer. This guide explains the implications of this change and outlines the necessary steps you need to take.
FAQ
How do I update my DNS records to use Framer’s improved hosting?
To use the enhanced hosting, update your DNS records with the new Framer IP addresses in the web hosting service where you purchased your domain. Add the following A records: 31.43.160.6 and 31.43.161.6. For the 'www' subdomain, add a CNAME record pointing to sites.framer.app. Do not remove the old Framer IPs yet. Once both the new and old records appear globally (check using DNS Checker), you can remove the old A records (52.223.52.2 and 35.71.142.77).
Why is it important to update to the new Framer IP addresses?
We are transitioning to new systems that use updated IP addresses, which we now fully own. This gives us greater control during emergencies and ensures the IPs are not 'tainted' by previous usage, reducing security flags. Support for the old IP addresses will end on July 1, 2025, so we highly recommend updating your DNS records before the deadline to ensure a smooth transition.
What happens if I don’t update my DNS records before the July 1, 2025 deadline?
Your site won’t go offline immediately if you don’t update your DNS records before July 1, 2025. However, we will send periodic reminders until the update is completed. We strongly recommend updating your DNS records before the deadline to avoid any potential issues.
